“I Killed It” Troubleshooting Guide

We’ve all been there—standing over a sad, crispy plant saying “I swear I only missed one watering!” First of all, don’t beat yourself up. Plants die. It happens. But let’s figure out why, so your next green buddy makes it. If the leaves turned yellow and fell off, you probably overwatered. Roots need air as much as they need water. Mushy stems? That’s a clear sign of rot. On the flip side, if it’s dry, crunchy, and lookin’ like a tumbleweed, it didn’t get enough water—or the air was too dry. Plants also hate moving around too much. If you keep changing it’s spot, it gets confused (yep, plants get stressed too). Light’s another big one. A sun-loving plant shoved in a dark corner? Dead vibes. Also, check for pests hiding under the leaves—those tiny jerks can do a lot of damage before you even notice. Most important? Don’t give up. You didn’t “fail,” you just learned. Try again, tweak your care, and maybe pick a hard-to-kill plant next time (snake plants are basically indestructible).
